Run Forest, Run!

So it happened, the Bear Lake Marathon. Guess what?! It was a success. I must say it was pretty fun, well that is until mile 11.5. Josh ran with me for the most part that was until we had to run on the busier portion of the 2 lane highway. That's where we got seperated a bit. We had to run single file for everything between mile 7 to 11 I think. Kind of a bummer... I like running side by side with him. Anyways, we did pretty well for our first half marathon. We averaged 10 minute miles up until mile 10 and then at mile 11.5 the pain all of a sudden started kicking in for me pretty bad and the mile times got a little bit lengthier. But needless to say we finished and I am so glad we did it. (Even though after we were done we kept saying..NEVER AGAIN! WHO'S IDEA WAS THIS?!? NEVER AGAIN!) I've found that as the days go by the thought keeps crossing my mind to do it again. I can say it was fun and definitely a good experience.
After the race we endulged in the good food Bear Lake/Garden City has to offer. We went to the drive in and got fried corn dogs, hamburgers, onion rings and of course a rasberry shake and after we ate we slept for 4 hours! :) After we got up we ate again. This time we went to Bear Lake pizza SO GOOD. Probably not the things we should've been eating right after, but oh man it was good.
Anyways...that was a little bit about our experience...now here are the pictures. We did have pictures taken as we were running and while we crossing the finish line..but we have to buy them from the company and I just haven't done that yet. So here are the few we took.......
What a pretty place to run a marathon!

Before....the "what the heck were we thinking!"

After..."We did it!"

Gotta take pictures of the reward food! ha ha
