Alot of people asked if I was ok with going to Arizona knowing that there was going to be alot of baseball involved, but I was excited about it. I like to go and watch baseball games (don't ask me who people are or any stats...that I can't help you with), but I like to enjoy the atmosphere and a good game. We ended up going to 4 different games in 4 days at 4 different stadiums. We saw the Mariners, Padres, Angels, Cubs, White Sox, LA Dodgers, Dimondbacks, and Indians. The Angels/Cubs game we ended up sitting in the rain, but since everyone was up under the roof we got to sit right behind home plate. We got sunburnt, had hotdogs, saw some cool players (even talked to a few), had the new type of game food---chocolate covered bananas and strawberries, and met a lot of neat people. I really enjoyed the game time and the sun and I definitely know Josh enjoyed it all! His childhood dream finally came true! Here are a few pictures of both of us at different games...I'll post more pics in a slideshow.
Josh graciously let us do a few other things besides baseball to keep my sanity in check! ha ha. We ended up visiting the Mesa Temple
and eating some ridiculously good food.
We printed off the list of the places that have been on the food network's show Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives. I think that was one of the smartest things we did! We tried several of the places and then a few more along the way that Josh's family suggested to us. I must say the food was definitely a HUGE bonus! I even took some pics..I'll put them in the slide show.
We also got to visit this little league field that has replicas of some of the famous MLB fields. It was pretty neat. Josh said he wants his boys to play on that field. We'll see! :)
Last, but definitely not least is we got to spend alot of time with some of Josh's extended family. I had only met a few of them, but didn't really know them. It was fun to get to know the family and enjoy their company! They are wonderful! They treated us like royalty, fed us, housed us, and showed us around and they even had enough patience to hang out with us for a week! I have to say...they are great cooks too! Can you tell I love food...everything ends up back on the food topic. Anyways, Thanks to them for making our visit such a good one!
I think I got everything. Actually, probably not...but close!
